“A mother’s joy begins when new life is stirring inside… when a tiny heartbeat is heard for the very first time, and a playful kick reminds her that she is never alone.” – Author Unknown
Pregnancy is such a special time. There is no time like it. There is nothing like feeling a baby growing inside you. It truly is a little miracle in the making. This is a fantastic time to capture these special memories not only for you but your children. Your child will know how proud you were and are to become a ‘Mum’. Although I know towards the end of your pregnancy you might not feel like your ‘glowing’. Back ache, the swelling, cramps, not sleeping it’s easy to not feel at your best. It’s my job as a photographer to make you look and feel wonderful.
Pregnancy session’s are best done between the 28 and 34 weeks. If you don’t think you have a ‘substantial’ bump at this time we can wait a little longer and do the session towards the 36 – 38 weeks. I find it’s better to come when you are feeling comfortable and good about yourself before the swelling begins! Don’t worry if you are finding it difficult to feel good. I will do that for you! A session can be up to 2 hours long.
Pregnancy sessions are tailored towards your preferences. When booking your session we will discuss what you would like from the session, the type of images you would prefer. Some ladies like to be completely covered others like to show off their bump to the fullest and don’t mind tasteful nude shots. All shot’s are performed in a discreet and tasteful manner and we will only do what you are comfortable with.
You should think about what you would like to bring with you to the session. This can be outfits, under wear, jewellery, scan pictures or anything else with sentimental value. We also discuss these items over the phone. Such items can include jewellery, accessories, hats and scarfs, footwear, ultrasound photos or even little booties. I also have a range of wraps, and maternity gowns that are available to use. If you are having photographs with Daddy then I suggest for men to bring or wear something simple. Plain shirts work well. Ideally I would suggest dad bring a selection of light and dark shirts. If there are children to be photographed with the new ‘bump’ then I suggest colour co-ordinating their outfits with both of yours.
The idea is to try and create something simple and timeless that will last for generations.
