Meet Maxine ~ Professional Baby Snuggler

Hi, my name is Maxine. Welcome to a little piece of my world which is newborn, children and family portraits.

I am a proud mum to three handsome boys, five beautiful dogs and my elderly cat Bear. Yes, I did say five dogs!

My older boys are now 26 and 25 and it really is true the time flies by in the blink of an eye. I miss the early years. Life has never been dull, and in those early years although sometimes challenging I wish I could turn back the clock and do them again. Teen years are a whole different ball game and I do not mind fast-forwarding those ‘wonderful’ years!

My youngest boy is eleven and has additional needs, he is my heart and soul and brings a whole new meaning to keeping you on your toes! He is constantly teaching me so much about myself, people and life in general and amazes me every day. Small steps are huge in my house. For me family is everything.

I have a sign in my studio which says “Enter as strangers and leave as friends” Many of my clients turn into lifelong friends.

People are always amazed at how patient I am. It’s true, babies and children I do have an abundance of patience. As the song goes, the children are our future. There is nothing like having a good old chinwag with a child. I think I appreciate it a little more nowadays as my own little one is non-verbal. Children have a wonderful way of looking at the world and I especially love the kids with no filter! It’s no wonder I ended up doing what I am doing.

My ‘other’ passion is travelling. I love every aspect of it. From the minute I leave my home with my heavy suitcase and the kitchen sink to meeting new people, trying new food, learning about different cultures. Discovering the history of a place. Oh, and not forgetting relaxing with the sun on my face and drink in hand with the sound of the sea in my ears. I just love it!

I spent many happy years working for baby and children’s physiotherapy in Coventry. I love chatting with kids! I love the innocent way they view life. I have had the funniest conversations with children while at the same time getting them to do their physio. If you ever tried to encourage a child to do something that they don’t really want to do e.g exercise and physio then you will know it can be a difficult task unless you find a way to connect and take their mind off the task at hand whilst they are doing it at the same time!

I have trained with the best and most respected trainers in newborn photography from not only the UK, but all over the world. With that experience along with my physio years, you can rest assured, that I know how to handle and position your baby safely and comfortably.

I love working in my studio. The studio is my little wonderland of all things precious! White, light with a boutique-style air, always cosey and warm. Surrounded by lots of pretties the scent of lavender fills the air (useful for sleepy babies). It’s my perfect happy place. Also, and more importantly, I have the best coffee station any coffee lover could wish for! It is a big win for parents visiting the studio in the early weeks with their newborn baby.

The only way to do great work is to love what you do.

“You can only become truly accomplished at something you love. Don’t make money your goal. Instead, pursue the things you love doing and then do them so well that people can’t take their eyes off of you.” – Maya Angelou
