High Street VS Pro Prints.
As a photographer there is nothing more rewarding than seeing your images in print. Displayed at their very best for all to see. Every photographer wants their images to look there very best as it their name and reputation on display for all to see.
As we live in a digital age most clients prefer to purchase their digitals. However, while this is the preferable route and I absolutely understand why people prefer their digitals afterall you are able to get more than one print of your favourite photograph and print as many different sizes as you wish. Plus you can make your own photobooks/album and print out your whole gallery and pop them in an photo album/scrapbook and keep them to hand to look at through the years and pass them on to generations to come. (Just like the good old days!) It makes sense but I also need to mention that you really need to be careful where you go to get them printed. There is a huge difference in colour and quality depending on where you go.
Viewing your images on your PC. Each and every monitor is also different. You may take your images home and they may look different on your monitor. That is because my computer along with every other professional photographer will be calibrated and we repeat this process every few months in order to to always make sure that the colours are perfect.
Over the years I have tried numerous labs to get my images printed and now I have my favourite professional printing labs I tend to stick with these as I know they are reliable and if I have a problem they are able to help usually immediately.
In the early days of course I skipped off to some of the well known print shops on the high street and was absolutely devastated to see that the images didn’t really look like they did on my screen. I now know that the reason for this isn’t because I produced terrible images it was because the printers on the high street are not the best quality and will differ massively from one store to the next. Even the well known stores that are known purely as a printing shop are not the best printers. The colours will be dark and the quality not good. Most of these places do not print on the best quality of papers. They also use a printing method that prints onto the paper while a professional lab will embed the colours into the paper. This looks different and the prints will not fade. They are built to last.
Whilst in the early days I used to only offer digital packages I became aware of how important it is for parents to see the difference in the quality of their photographs with a professional products. If you have invested in a professional photo-shoot it’s only right that you should be given the choice to invest in quality products to showcase your memories at their very best. When you book a portrait session with me I will also explain whilst you will not be able to purchase directly from a professional printing lab (as they will only supply to professional photographers who can show they have a website) I will advise you on where to go to achieve a more desirable better quality print/photograph and of course where not to go.
As well as the digital only bundles that are offered you can choose from our collections where you have the option of receiving all of your images as well as professional prints or wall art professionally printed at one of our top quality professional printing labs where your images will be printed at their very best! Basically what you see on my screen is what you will see on your print/photograph and if on the rare occasion it doesn’t (because pro labs can have a mishap) then it’s down to me to rectify with the printing company before it even reaches you. No worry, no stress, just beautifully displayed print’s/photographs for you to enjoy.
Most importantly, don’t forget to print your images as you can not place a USB or a broken phone on the wall and view your images. Photographs are taken to be displayed, enjoyed, looked at fondly for years to come. Happy printing!
