Will I feel like leaving the house when I have just had a baby?
You might not think you will but for a baby photoshoot once you do you will love it!
A baby photoshoot should be a calm and relaxing environment for new parents to escape to. Leaving the house and travelling to a place you’re not sure what to expect can be quite daunting. You don’t know the photographer, and you are unsure how you will feel handing your baby over to a stranger. Even when I write this down, it sounds a little bit scary!
A baby photography studio should have all the creature comforts one should expect to accommodate new parents and their newest addition and of course, a place where siblings can chill, relax or play safely until it’s their time to shine in front of the camera. My studio is designed with this in mind. There is a comfy sofa where parents have been known to fall asleep. A testament to how relaxing it is in the studio. One Daddy said I would be down here all the time, just come to escape and relax! There is a baby changing station with everything you need and also tea and coffee making facilities. I always ask parents to bring themselves a little picnic so they can relax and eat an undisturbed snack/lunch. Something that doesn’t happen too often in the first year after the baby arrives. Yes, I did say year!

As a specialist newborn baby photographer, I get to meet some of the most beautiful babies when they attend their first baby photoshoot! It’s so nice meeting people at such a special time in their lives, particularly when there is so much going on in the world today. I get to escape for a few hours in the studio (my happy place) caught up in all the fees in the new parent’s beautiful baby bubble. It’s my chance to let the parents rest and let them watch me work my magic with my camera and capture unique details of little features that they will be able to look at in a photograph and remember forever. It’s worth remembering that photographs taken at your newborn baby photoshoot are keepsakes that will last forever. Not just during your lifetime, but your children’s lifetime and for generations to come. I have photographs of my grandparents as children framed and hung in pride of place in my hallway. Now, they were born in the early 1900s. (When I say that, I do indeed feel old!) Photographs will probably outlive any other purchase that you make in this throw away society. Photographs are our valuable piece of family history that we should treasure. The investment in a professional photoshoot is worth every penny, and the result is often priceless.
I do have the best job. It’s hard work, but I do love it.
